Missions Professor


Full-time International Service Employee (ISE Budget)


Applied Theology Department, AIIAS Theological Seminary


Based on Faculty Ranking, Academic Degree, and Experience    


June 1, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter    

Required Qualification and Skills



  1. Earned Doctoral Degree in Applied Theology
  2. High level of proficiency in English
  3. Willing to work with students and faculty from various cultures in an international setting
  4. Have a vibrant Christian experience and a member of Seventh-day Adventist church in good standing

Preferred Qualification and Skills


  1. PhD with an emphasis in Missions, and/or Intercultural Studies
  2. Ordained or commissioned Seventh-day Adventist Minister

Required Work Experience

  1. A minimum of 5 years of cross cultural mission experience
  2. Prior teaching experience

Preferred Work Experience




  1. Actively involved in a wider ministry beyond the local congregation
  2. Successful teaching in tertiary or graduate level for at least 3 years
  3. Successful ministry in a multi-cultural environment
  4. Mentoring student research
  5. Record of academic engagement in research and publications

Key Responsibilities



  1. Teach Graduate Mission and Applied Theology courses on-campus, at distant learning centers, and online
  2. Research advising of graduate students including thesis, projects, and dissertations
  3. Active in research and publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals
  4. Participation in outreach and public service activities
  5. Responsibilities as assigned by the Seminary Dean or Academic Vice President
