AIIAS is pleased to announce the arrival of the new faculty member in the Applied Theology department of the Theological Seminary, Dr. Pavel Zubkov.
Dr. Zubkov was born in Uzbekistan, Central Asia, but grew up near the Black Sea in Rostov-on-Don City, Southern Russia.
After graduating from Zaokskiy Seminary with a Bachelor in Theology, Zubkov and his wife, Liliia Zubkova were called to serve on the South of Russia, Krasnodar region. There, he served as a local pastor, a district pastor, and the executive secretary of the conference.
After completing his PhD at AIIAS, he was called to teach mission classes at Zaokskiy Adventist University (ZAU). Apart from teaching, he was also the MA program director and Marketing & Promotion director. He became the vice president for student services since 2004. He was also a coordinator of the AMR study center for Euro-Asia Division, giving him the opportunity to travel to the mission field for conducting seminars for the SDA church members in republics and countries such as Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, etc. He was also involved in several research projects on the various levels of church organization.
He has a PhD in Religion with a concentration on Intercultural Studies, as well as an MA in Religion with a concentration on Biblical-Theological Studies from the Andrews University extension program at Zaokskiy during 2005-2008.
Zubkov returns back to AIIAS with his wife Liliia, and three out of four children–the eldest son is pursuing his studies in Argentina. Liliia, a graduate of the MA in TESOL program from AIIAS, will be teaching at the AIIAS English Center.
