By Dr. Godwin N. Aja, Professor, AIIAS Graduate School, Public Health Department
Question: CELEBRATIONS at AIIAS amidst Coronavirus pandemic?
Answer: Yes, CELEBRATIONS at AIIAS!
Answer: At AIIAS, I:
Choose to stay at home with my family to avoid exposure to the virus.
Exercise around AIIAS tree-lined lanes, morning and/or evening.
Drink liquids, particularly water to keep my body cells, organs, and tissues functioning.
Keep my home environment clean and fresh.
Believe that God is still in full control of the COVID-19 situation.
Rest on the promises of the never-failing God for protection and recovery of those infected and affected.
Aerate my home by keeping my windows and doors open when necessary.
Exercise temperance by eating wholesome food, getting adequate sleep, and completely avoiding all known harmful practices.
Maintain my integrity by being conscious of God’s moral principles while no one is watching me at home.
Remain optimistic in a situation I have no control of.
Nourish my body with fresh and wholesome (healthy) items from AIIAS food market and canteen, as well as nourish my spirit through daily devotion; spending ample time praying and studying the word of God.
Remain socially connected with community members via social media platforms, e-mails, and phone calls, while maintaining the acceptable physical distancing rule when exercising (Morning Star) or shopping.
The AIIAS MPH focuses on wholeness from scientific and Adventist perspectives.
