CHMN 558 Church Ministry Practicum I (1 Credit)

About the Course

This course is designed to provide advanced church ministry experience. It is offered as part of the MDiv program prerequisites in cooperation with the local congregation. It exposes students to various aspects of church ministry, including evangelism, youth ministry, church leadership, and administration. This course may be repeated up to three times, indicated by successive Roman numerals.

Time Investment

Engage in church ministries under the supervision of a qualified “field supervisor” for at least two months (one term).

Course Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:

1. Get acquainted with specific tasks of pastoral ministry.
2. Describe both the Micro and Macro contexts in which ministry is accomplished.
3. Serve and function pastorally in the church setting.
