Emphasizing Health Through Wholeness

The AIIAS community gathered to celebrate the health festival weekend themed “Wholeness, Health, and Oneness” from Oct 29 – Nov 1. The weekend included but wasn’t limited to a collection of lectures, cooking classes, worship services, and an international buffet in which various aspects of a wholesome healthy life were discussed and presented.

“I always enjoy the health weekend,” said a student from Indonesia. “It makes me reevaluate my lifestyle and my health.”

Students from the public health department annually use their theoretical training to host a public health campaign at AIIAS. They encourage the community to have a healthy lifestyle.

The AIIAS community was encouraged to take part in all the activities. The presentations revolved living a wholesome, healthy life. The activities focused on various aspects of a wholesome, healthy lifestyle.

On Friday morning, medical professionals gathered the community for a health screening where information was collected and physicians were available for consulting participants. More than 100 people participated from young children to elderly adults.

A highlight was the international buffet that included healthy traditional food from countries and regions represented by AIIAS community members. Participants took a trip around the world in one meal.

A professional vegan chef taught cooking classes to wrap up the weekend. She showed participants how to make healthy food delicious and visually appealing.

The annual health festival weekend is collaboratively organized by the public health department and the AIIAS SDA Church’s health ministry department.
