MGMT 502 Management

About the Course

This course is designed to be an overview of the major functions of management. Emphasis is
on planning, organizing, controlling, directing, and communicating.

Time Investment

The time commitment for this course is approximately 60 hours. This breaks down into 2 hours
of reading/watching, 3 hours of assignments (forum discussions, case studies, skills
development assignment), and 1 hour of being quizzed, over the regular 9 units or weeks. Over
the final week, the student will also take a 6-hour final exam.

Course Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:

NATASHA NANGOY-SINAGA, PhD

Dr. Natasha Nangoy-Sinaga is an assistant professor of the Business Department of the Graduate School at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS). She teaches Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management, and Management. Her research interests include focusing on utilizing qualitative methods to uncover issues related to women in the workplace, work-life balance, talent management, and coping with abrupt change. She is originally from Indonesia but has lived in the Philippines for almost half of her life. In her spare time, she enjoys flower arranging and crafting with her daughter.

DAVID LUMOWA, PhD

Dr. David Lumowa is an assistant professor of the Business Department of the Graduate School at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies. He teaches Financial Risk Management, Advanced Corporate Finance, and Entrepreneurship. He is a certified Broker, Underwriter, and Investment Manager. He holds a Master of Commerce in Applied Finance at the University of Queensland, Australia, and a PhD in Business at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies, Philippines. He has been teaching business courses in the field of finance for nearly 20 years.

He is passionate about research. He is the CFO of the Asian Qualitative Research Association (AQRA), and a committee member of the Asia Pacific Research Center (APRC). He loves diving and is a Certified Rescue Diver (CMAS-3) and a Certified Dive Master (CMAS-4).

ANUP DOMINIC, PhD in process

Anup Dominic is presently an on-campus full-time doctoral student at AIIAS, pursuing an emphasis in business marketing. He holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Wollongong in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (2018) and a Bachelor of Science in finance from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida, USA. His career that spanning over 15 years, was primarily in Sales and Marketing at several prominent companies in Dubai, UAE, representing the industries of automotive, banking, construction, consultancy, digital, publishing, and event media.
