An expository study of the Book of Daniel, including introductory information, the genre and structure of the book, and different approaches to the book. The study of each chapter will include a contextual exposition taking into consideration the theology of the book, enabling the
student to prepare sermons and other materials related to the book.
Students have to invest 2 hrs.
Unit 1-The Book of Daniel- General Introduction – Study of Daniel 1
Unit 2- Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream – Study of Daniel 2
Unit 3- Daniel, his Friends and the Great Kings – Study of Daniel 3, 4, 5, and 6
Unit 4- Daniel 7: The Core of the book. The four beasts and the little horn – Study of Daniel 7a
Unit 5- Daniel 7: the core of the book. The saints, the judgment – Study of Daniel 7b
Unit 6- Daniel 8: The Little Horn, and the Purification of the Sanctuary
Unit 7- Daniel 9-12 the Seventy Weeks and Other Insights of Eschatological Events
Unit 8- Insights from Daniel’s Themes and Prophecies
HECTOR O. MARTIN F., Ph.D.
Dr. Hector Martin serves as an Assistant Professor in the Biblical Studies Department at the Theological Seminary of AIIAS. A native of Venezuela, he holds a BA in Theology from Seminario Teológico Adventista (Venezuela), an MA in Education from Universidad de Montemorelos (Mexico), and a PhD in Religion from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (Philippines), which he completed in 2012. Dr. Martin has contributed numerous academic book reviews to respected publications such as the Journal of Asia Adventist Seminary (JAAS) and the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL). He has also served as editor for a variety of scholarly books and journals. Dr. Martin is joyfully married to Bileidis Angelica, and they are blessed with two sons and two grandsons.
CARLOS ELIAS MORA, PhD
Dr. Mora served as the former Chair of the Biblical Studies Department at the Theological Seminary of AIIAS. During his tenure, he actively contributed to the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church, authored numerous academic articles and books, and collaborated with fellow archaeologists. As a member of the Associates for Biblical Research (ABR), he organized trips to archaeological excavation sites and led students on several biblical tours to Egypt, Israel, Turkey, and Jordan.
