Week of Prayer Focuses on Rest

Another Week of Prayer themed, “Resting in Jesus” was held on September 2-7, 2019.

Guest speakers were husband-wife tandem, Gerald Klingbeil, D.Litt., associate editor of Adventist Review/Adventist World and Chantal Klingbeil, M.Phil., associate director of the Ellen White Estate in Maryland, USA.

The speakers shared helpful ways on how God’s people can rest daily in Jesus. They related rest to health, relationships, and life in general. “Despite of life’s challenges, we can always rest in Jesus. Our prayers may not be answered the way we wish but we can still rest in Jesus”, emphasized the speakers.

This week of prayer was not all about receiving God’s Word but also giving a special offering to God in the form of money and tangible goods that will be distributed to those in need. As part of the week’s activities, the attendees received gifts in the form of fridge magnets made up of five pieces with a special design geared toward preparation for Holy Communion. The community also participated in sharing love languages with each other through envelopes which were posted at the entrance of the worship hall.

This week of prayer was organized by the Student Association with the guidance of the administration.
