Biography:

Teofilo Correa has had diverse ministry experiences as a missionary and ordained pastor before he started working in the academe in 2000 when he was called to teach at the Peruvian Union University. Correa has served as professor and dean of the School of Theology and the Seminary in Peru and Bolivia, and he was also a visiting professor in a college in Ecuador. He joined the AIIAS Theological Seminary in 2015, where teaches Biblical Languages and Interpretation of the Hebrew Bible. Besides teaching and research advisory roles at AIIAS, he was also the MA-R program director and the PhD program director. Currently, he is the chair of the Biblical Studies Department. His areas of interest are prophetic literature, the books of Isaiah and Daniel, methods in biblical studies, and inner-biblical allusion (intertextuality).

Dr. Correa belongs to a number of academic societies, such as The American Schools of Oriental Research, The Society of Biblical Literature, The Adventist Theological Society, and The Society for Old Testament Study. Correa is an academician committed to fostering studies in the Hebrew Bible with appropriate tools and methodologies for faithful biblical text interpretation. He is married to Cecilia Correa, MSc, and they have two children.

Recent/Upcoming Publications:

Prof. Correa is leading some research projects on Protology and Eschatology in the Hebrew Bible. Correa has authored and edited five books and several academic articles. His recent publications include the book “The Glory of the Lord in Isaiah” and the Teacher’s Edition of the Sabbath School Study Guide on the Book of Isaiah (2021). He has published in English, Spanish, and Portuguese languages.
