Job Title

Faculty Member in the Education Department of the AIIAS Graduate School

Salary

Remuneration will be according to the denominational wage scale at AIIAS, taking into account educational qualifications, professional experience, years of service and faculty ranking.

Available

January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter    

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

 

  1. An earned doctorate degree in Education
  2. An earned MA degree in TESOL, PhD cognate in TESOL, or at least 12 graduate-level credits in TESOL
  3. A high level of proficiency in written and oral English
  4. Willing and able to teach in a variety of modalities on campus, in AIIAS distance learning centers, and online
  5. Willing to work with students and faculty from a variety of cultures and ethnic backgrounds in an international setting
  6. Possess a vibrant Christian experience, be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing, a model a healthy lifestyle.

Preferred Qualification and Skills

 

  1. Specialization in TESOL, Curriculum and Instruction, or Educational Administration
  2. A record of productive scholarship
  3. A record of active and continuing professional development

Required Work Experience

  1. Successful higher education teaching experience
  2. Successful TESOL experience

Preferred Work Experience

 

 

 

  1. More than 5 years of full-time teaching experience in higher education
  2. Successful teaching experience at the master's or doctoral level
  3. Experience in online teaching and blended learning
  4. Demonstrated experience in research advising with quantitative and/or qualitative methods.
  5. A record of academic engagement in research and publications
  6. Experience living and working in a multicultural or cross-cultural community.

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  1. Teach graduate courses on-campus, at distance learning centers, and online
  2. Engage in academic and research advising
  3. Be active in a range of scholarly activities
  4. Actively participate in service activities
  5. Engage in co-curricular and extra-curricular responsibilities as assigned by the Education Department or Graduate School Dean
